Sunday 5th September - Fixture Round Up

7 September 2021

As the 2021 season comes to a close, we take a look back to Sunday where our County Age Group & Development sides were finishing up with some positive performances. A special mention to Oldlands CC, Hawkesbury CC and Lydney CC for accommodating the matches and for being superb hosts.

U12s County Age Group vs Somerset @ Lydney CC

In a rearranged fixture against neighbouring team Somerset, our U12s skipper Joseph Armitage won the toss and elected to bat first. Opener Henry Rendell (69) anchored the innings well with middle order support from Noah Tutty (36) who looked in fine touch as Gloucestershire reached 197 all out just inside the allotted 40 overs.

In reply, our bowling unit bowled superbly together dismissing Somerset for 35 all out winning by 162 runs. Jack Baker, Toby Downham, Lohith Kirubashankar and Shriranj Praveen all taking 2 wickets apiece to contribute to an astounding win. A brilliant win to cap off the U12s County Age Group season.

U13s County Age Group vs Wiltshire @ Hawkesbury CC

Another rearranged fixture saw Wiltshire travel to Hawkesbury CC to play our U13s CAG side which was led by Henry Driver-Dickerson.

Henry won the toss and elected to field first as Wiltshire made a competitive total of 195 for 9 in their 40 overs. The pick of the bowlers being opening bowler Praveen Timmaraju who claimed 3 for 36.

In reply, middle order pair Henry Driver Dickerson (47) and Arthur Trotman (40) steadied the ship to build a significant platform for Gloucestershire to get close to the total. Harrison Tegg (30*) and Jamie Maxwell (30*) took Gloucestershire home to a 4-wicket victory, timing the chase perfectly.

U18s Development vs Cricket Wales @ Oldlands CC

Our U18s Development side had their final run out of the season with a fixture against a Cricket Wales Development side. Cricket Wales batting first looked a strong batting line up as our bowlers struggled to contain runs, with their number 3 batsman making a well composed 91 to take them to 258 for 5 off 50 overs.

In reply, skipper Stanley Brown led the way with a beautifully made 115* to take Gloucestershire to an emphatic 2 wicket victory inside 49 overs. A brilliant effort from Stanley in a closely fought fixture.
