Brian Brain - 1940-2023

Gloucestershire Cricket is saddened to learn of the passing of its former player, Brian Brain, at the age of 83.
A former pace bowler, Brian played for Gloucestershire between 1976 and 1981 and played a major role in Shire's 1977 Benson & Hedges Cup Final win at Lords', taking 3/9 off 7.3 overs.
Over the course of six years, Brian made 110 First-Class appearances for Gloucestershire and took 316 wickets at 24.98. Brian also featured in 101 List A fixtures taking a further 144 wickets at 19.09.
After leaving Gloucestershire in 1981, Brian spent a season at Shropshire before hanging up his spikes.
