The Gloucestershire Cricket Trust (GCT), the club’s recently re-vamped charitable arm, has become the Club’s county-wide charity partner for the 2022 season.

First founded in 1991, the (GCT) seeks to further expand and diversify the reach of cricket within the county of Gloucestershire and extend beyond the boundaries of the game to support and deliver impactful community initiatives. Aligning with Gloucestershire Cricket’s community objectives, the GCT will support a cross-section of society and seeks to develop an array of new and existing projects over the coming years. This will ultimately allow the Club’s Community department to delve deeper into our community’s needs and connect with a range of groups across the county.

The Trust hope to access funding and receive charitable donations to give it the ability to access a greater portfolio of programmes in sustainability, cricket activity, education and employability, and health and well-being. These are designed to create positive change, enabling individuals and communities to fulfil their potential.

Pete Lamb, Head of Community at Gloucestershire Cricket, added: “The GCT has the potential to make huge differences to people’s lives throughout the County. As a charity its ambition is for its impact to be felt beyond the boundaries of cricket, and the programmes it funds to benefit a cross-section of our communities.

“In providing year-round opportunities the GCT will become a central and representative pillar that supports our communities.”
