Based in Bristol city centre, Caring in Bristol are passionate about creating a city empowered to solve homelessness. Among the charity’s vital work is their ambitious ‘blueprint for change’. Published in May 2021, the document sets out the charity’s goal of making Bristol the first major UK city to solve homelessness.

Caring in Bristol began life in 1987 as ‘Caring at Christmas,’ set up by a group of passionate Bristolians who were saddened by the sight of people sleeping rough on cold winter streets. The charity has evolved since then into an army of volunteers and full-time staff who work with adults and young people at risk of or facing homelessness crisis 365 days a year.

Luke Mitchell, Corporate and Community Partnerships Coordinator at Caring in Bristol, commented: “Our growth since 1987 isn’t just a result of the hard work and dedication of everyone inside the charity, but is also because of our donors, supporters and partners that have been so caring and passionate towards our cause. This is why a partnership like this means the world to us.

“To be selected as the charity partner for Gloucestershire is an honour and a privilege, and it will no doubt provide crucial support to allow us to increase our services even further to even more people in need.

“To say that we are excited to be selected as the charity partner is an understatement, we simply cannot wait to work with the team in various fundraising endeavours. This year has been extremely difficult for our local charity both in terms of fundraising as well as the pressures on our services, and this partnership will give us a huge boost.”
