Venue: Adlestrop CC

Oxfordshire vs Gloucestershire U10's County Age Group (Friendly)

Our U10s County Age Group squad travelled to Adlestrop Park on a stunning day in Oxfordshire, with the home side winning the toss and electing to field first.

Jonty Grindal (48) and Olly Michael (49) starred with the bat to help Gloucestershire compile a solid total on a challenging wicket. Working hard in the heat and against a strong bowling attack, Grindal and Michael hit the ball well into gaps whilst running between the wickets building a strong partnership. Albie Sharp also contributed in the middle order, hitting 4 boundaries to make a quick fire 21 as Gloucestershire made 160 for 9 in their 40 overs.

In reply, Charlie Snow got Gloucestershire off to an excellent start claiming the wickets of both openers and conceding only 4 runs within his spell of 4 overs. Fellow opening bowler Jacob Bennett also getting in on the action taking the wickets of the middle order, bowling with great consistency taking 3 wickets for 11 runs. Oxfordshire batsman Goyal provided great resistance hitting a patient 29 runs off 51 balls however Gloucestershire managed to keep making breakthroughs as Oxfordshire were all out for 74 runs, taking victory by 86 runs.

A fantastic effort by bat and ball by our U10s County Age Group who will be beaming with confidence going into the Malvern Festival on the 25th July. A thank you to Oxfordshire for hosting us at a brilliant venue.
