Academy Player Highlights - May Round Up

An unfortunate weather affected month meant that our Academy Squad had limited opportunities to play to feature for our Gloucestershire teams. However, a number of our players managed to make an impact when given then chance to play for our Second XI & U18s sides.
Somerset 2xi vs Gloucestershire 2xi – 3rd May
The Second XI continued their County Championship campaign against Somerset at Taunton Vale CC. Academy Players Will Naish, Alex Russell and Max Trotman impressing against Yorkshire & Worcestershire last month, were in the action again.
Will Naish continuing his fine form for the side, scored an impressive 43 whilst forming a very handy partnership with Max Trotman who looked well set on his way to 44. Their partnership certainly helped the Second XI side reach a decent total and they helped soak up the pressure from a strong bowling attack.
Alex Russell proving his continued selection in the side, bowling superbly in the 2nd innings to nearly gain victory for us. He bowled 17 overs taking 3 for 76 which included the big wickets of Tom Banton and Will Smeed.
