Academy Player Highlights – April Round Up

Several players within our Academy Squad were selected to feature in Gloucestershire's Second XI in April, here is a quick round up of how they got on and congratulations to the players that were involved!
Worcestershire 2xi vs Gloucestershire 2xi – 12th April
The Second XI started their County Championship campaign against Worcestershire at Kidderminster CC. Academy Players Will Naish, Oliver Meadows, Ahmed Syed, Alex Russell and Max Trotman all contributing towards a comprehensive victory.
Oliver Meadows scored 59* on debut for the side in the first innings giving him invaluable experience against a quality bowling attack. Alex Russell bowled with great control finishing with match figures of 3 for 37 and Will Naish sealed victory for us with an attacking 38* in the second innings. Max Trotman also making an impact behind the stumps with a stumping and 3 catches.

Gloucestershire 2xi vs Yorkshire 2xi– 19th April
The Second XI returned to the Bristol County Ground to play Yorkshire. Academy Players Will Naish, Oliver Meadows, Praneel Choughule, Alex Russell and Max Trotman given the nod to play.
A match which was heavily dominated by Yorkshire, Will Naish once again showed his talents with the bat hitting half centuries in both innings.
