First Pre-Season Friendly called off
22 March 2013
Gloucestershire’s inaugural pre-season friendly against Oxford MCCU was called off this morning without a ball being bowled. Unlike this time last year, the elements were against us today and no play was possible. The team have returned to Bristol and will spend the time instead in the nets where they will be joined by former Gloucestershire keeper, Jonathan Batty.
The next pre-season fixture is against Somerset at Taunton on Monday 25 March and our friends at the BBC Weather centre are forecasting “a few snow showers in the east but some bright spells developing.” Although the forecast is not great, we have everything crossed for a good day’s cricket.
The squad for Monday’s match will be announced after the weekend.
The remaining pre-season friendlies are as follows:-
26-28 March v Glamorgan at The Swalec Stadium
2 April v Worcestershire at Kidderminster
3-4 April v Worcestershire at Kidderminster
7-8 April v MCCYC at Shenley
