Team news

Your 14-player Gloucestershire squad to face Somerset:

James Bracey*, Zaman Akhter, Anwar Ali, Chris Dent, Zafar Gohar, Joe Phillips, Ollie Price, Tom Price, Josh Shaw, Tom Smith, Jack Taylor, Graeme van Buuren, Paul van Meekeren, Ben Wells.

Last time out

James Bracey hit the highest List A score ever by a Gloucestershire player against Somerset on Sunday as Gloucestershire won by an astonishing 198 runs in Bristol.

The Shire set their West Country rivals 455 to win thanks to Bracey’s record-breaking knock, the skipper receiving impressive support in the form of half-centuries by Chris Dent and Ollie Price.

In return, Glos bowled the visitors out inside 40 overs, Josh Shaw and Paul van Meekeren taking four wickets each in a convincing win.

Our opponents

Glamorgan have had a mixed tournament thus far winning two from five matches. An abandonment against Durham means the Cardiff-based side has picked up five points from a possible ten.

On Sunday Glam beat Sussex by four wickets after a superb bowling display restricted the Sharks to 276/9. A 145-run second wicket stand between Eddie Byrom and Colin Ingram was then instrumental in the Welsh county chasing the target with 3.3 overs to spare.

Last meeting

Glamorgan took the points the last time the sides met in 50-over competition. Chris Cooke’s 161 was the anchor to Glamorgan setting Shire 332 to win in the 2019 edition of the One-Day Cup.

Despite a 75 from Jack Taylor Gloucestershire eventually fell short by 74 runs in Bristol.
