Weekly Fixture Round Up – 26th July to 30th July

With the Summer Holidays in full swing, this gives the chance for all of our County Age Group and Development sides to play during the week. We take a look back at the fixtures that took place and summarised what happened - a busy but productive week for all of our players! 

Monday 26th July

Gloucestershire U15s CAG beat Cornwall by 123 runs with on Monday with Freddie Sharp hitting 46 and skipper Max Dunne scoring 58. Ottie Landale made sure Gloucestershire set a competitive total hitting a magnificent 112*. Mason Lingard took 3 wickets for 32 runs, bowling with great consistency to ease the home side to a win.

Jacob Bennett had a great performance for the U10s CAG side on Day 1 of the Malvern Festival. He scored a half century to seal a brilliant victory over Staffordshire. 

Tuesday 27th July

Wilf Newton (83*) was the star of the show for our U13s CAG side who came out on top with a 10 wicket win against Devon at Braunton CC. He was ably assisted by Max Denny (23) to guide them to victory.

Somerset came out on top against our U14s Development side in a closely fought match. Louis Watson-Roper certainly set the tone for Gloucestershire by taking 4 wickets for 28 runs off 6 overs.

Rain played a part in our U18s Development fixture against Warwickshire at Cheltenham CC. However, before the showers arrived which abandoned the match – Soban Irfan bowled a fantastic spell taking 5 wickets for 20 runs off 7 overs.

Jimmy Woodward took an impressive 3 wickets for 16 runs however it couldn’t prevent Dorset from victory as the home side took the win by 84 runs.

Our U18s CAG side had the first round of their County Championship campaign, with a 3 day match against Wales at Rockhampton CC. Contributions with bat and ball saw Glos to an 141 run win. Oliver Meadows (104), Tommy Boorman (75), Ahmed Syed (55) and Stanley Brown (87*) producing the goods with the bat. Praneel Choughule (5 wickets) and Max Shepherd (8 wickets) gaining impressive match figures.

Jonty Grindal  hit a superb 67 to post a competitive total for Gloucestershire on Day 2 of the Malvern Festival. Another victory for the U10s CAG side as they defeated Warwickshire. 

Wednesday 28th July

Devon managed a 3 wicket win against our U14s CAG side however impressive performances from Lewis Rollinson (40) and Zaman Shafi (49*) will give the team confidence going into their next fixture.

Our U15s Development side produced a great 4 wicket win against Somerset at Kings College Taunton. Ruben Lombard taking 4 for 20 with Rohan Donga (40) and Daniel Hammond (44) contributing with the bat.

Ottie Landale struck his second century of the week hitting 131* in a friendly T20 against Wales. Max Dunne and Mason Lingard ensured a 48-run victory for Gloucestershire by taking 3 wickets each.

Our U12s County side were in action travelling down to Devon, Ed Bordeaux (42) and Noah Bennett (88*) helping Gloucestershire to a 31-run victory. Shirianj Praveen providing support with the ball taking 3 wickets.

Charlie Snow made the final day of the Malvern Festival count as he took a hat-trick for the U10s CAG side, leading them to their third victory of the week. 

Thursday 29th July

A superb victory for our U13s Development side who were playing Cricket Wales East. Neel Kulkarni guided the team to a win with a well composed 34*.

The U11s Development side got their first win of the season against Berkshire. The home side managed a 41-run win at Wycliffe School.

Friday 30th July

Our U14s County Age Group were due to play Hampshire in the Royal London Cup at Newent CC. However, heavy rain meant that the fixture has now been rearranged to Monday 16th August.
