Weekly Fixture Round Up - 16th to 20th August

Monday 16th August

Our Gloucestershire U14s CAG side suffered a tough loss against a strong Hampshire side at Newent CC who won by 81 runs. Hampshire electing to bat first scored 230, before being dismissed inside their allotted 45 overs. Henry Trotman the pick of the bowlers taking 4 wickets for 43 runs. In reply, we struggled to form any partnerships to take us to the total as were dismissed for 149. Zain Syed top scoring at the top of the innings with 34.

Tuesday 17th August

Henry Pelley & Ryan Rice starred for our U12s Development side as they took home a 5 wicket win against Somerset at Cirencester CC. Gloucestershire bowling first were in full control thanks to an incredible bowling display by Pelley who took 6 wickets for 6 runs! In reply, Rice made sure Gloucestershire crossed the line with a patient 59*.

Our U18s Development side travelled away to play a Warwickshire EPP Development XI, where Gloucestershire managed a resounding 79 run win. Will Hope continued his form with a well-made 55, whilst Praneel Choughule (82) & Stanley Brown (94*) put together 135 for the 4th wicket partnership as Gloucestershire reached 322. Warwickshire in reply batted well, however, wickets fell at regular intervals with all our bowlers chipping in effectively with key wickets.

Wilf Newton (60) scored a valuable half century to push Gloucestershire’s U13s CAG side to a 5-wicket victory against Somerset. He was ably assisted by Henry Driver Dickerson who hit a well crafted 45* off 39 balls to ensure the win. Earlier, Jonty Taylor bowled a superb 8 overs to take 3 wickets for 26 runs to help restrict Somerset to 184.

Dumbleton CC played host to our U13s Development side who unfortunately lost to a well-tuned Oxfordshire side by 59 runs. Bowling first, Freddie Douglas-Pennant took 4 wickets for 38 runs at the top of the order, however, a last wicket partnership really hurt the home side which took Oxfordshire to 260 all out. In reply, Aidan Donnelly scored a brilliant half century with support from skipper Max Davidson (47) however we couldn’t quite cross the line as we reached 201 for 7 in 40 overs.

Our U12s CAG side enjoyed an 8 wicket win against Warwickshire at Lydney CC. Handy contributions with the ball from Toby Downham (3 for 11) and Nikash Choughule (3 for 19) restricted Warwickshire to 111 all out. Our top order managed to chase down the target with ease crossing the line in 25 overs.

Thursday 19th August

Our U12s Development side suffered a 118-run loss at Cirencester CC, thanks to an incredible bowling display from Dorset’s T Golding who took a remarkable 7 wickets without conceding a run. A tough loss for our U12s Development team however Mohsin Asif bowled exceptionally well taking 3 wickets for 18 runs.

Shaunak Abhyankar hit 51 to guide our U13 Development side to a 6 wicket win against Somerset at Apperley CC. Hitting 8 fours, he looked in great touch as Gloucestershire chased 137 runs for the loss of only 4 wickets inside 30 overs.

Anir Sanat & Ahmed Syed starred for our U14s CAG side as they recovered from their loss earlier in the week to win by 6 wickets against Somerset at Newent CC. Gloucestershire bowling first managed to dismiss the opposition for 178 with Anir taking 4 wickets for 36 runs in 9 overs. In reply, Syed looked in full control opening batting leading the home side to a well-earned win with 88* which included 9 boundaries.
