U11s Boys County Age Group - Season Review & Award Winners

6 October 2021

In summary for our U11s Boys side, it was a challenging and somewhat low-scoring season. However, it was one where we witnessed some notable performances and undoubted player progression throughout the season.

18 players had the opportunity to represent the age group in 2021. Hugo Bush, Finlay Sherred-Isles & Siddhant Patil scored over 200 runs each within the season. The U11s also had three bowlers taking over 10 wickets, well done to Freddie De Rouet, Sam Beardsmore and Finley Sherred-Isles for achieving this.

U11s Coach Steve Cashmore said from training sessions in sleet & snow, to a close-fought encounter with Worcestershire at Pershore in what felt like 90 degrees of heat, the under 11 squad have grown in confidence and shown potential to achieve success at an individual and squad level. Their energy and enthusiasm was never in doubt and was masterfully managed and directed by captains Herbie A’Hearne and Archie Jackson.

Performance of the Year

This player scored a beautiful, free-flowing innings of 81 against a testing Worcestershire bowling attacked. Playing with patience to begin with then progressing through his knock, the U11s Boys Performance of the Year was awarded to Siddhant Patil.

Player of the Year

Sam Beardsmore was awarded the U11s Boys Player of the Year for his outstanding contributions with bat and ball throughout the season. His consistency, growth and energy are the attributes which Sam has to become a brilliant player - well done Sam.
