Gloucestershire lost by 5 wickets

Venue: Wycliffe School

Gloucestershire U11's Development vs Cricket Wales East (Friendly)

Our U11s Development side hosted Cricket Wales East at the beautiful setting of Wycliffe School on Sunday. Skipper Morgan Dawson won the toss and elected to bat first on excellently prepared wicket on a slightly overcast day in the south west.

Wicket-Keeper batsman James Hutchings looked settled at the top of the order, hitting 3 fours until he was dislodged by Toby Smith for 17. However, this brought to the crease William Wright who batted superbly for 70 runs and looked in great touch for the home side. Hitting 9 boundaries and facing 83 balls, he was well assisted in the middle order by captain Morgan Dawson who made a quick fire 24 runs off 16 balls to enable Gloucestershire to reach 157 for 8 off the allotted 35 overs.

Harris Dola put the pressure on Cricket Wales East right from the start taking a wicket early in the innings and finishing with impressive figures of 4 overs, taking 1 wicket for 8 runs. However, CWE batsman Devansh Agarwal batting at number 3 for the away side compiled a well made 67 runs off 62 runs with Evan Roderick making 28 not out to see them to victory by 5 wickets. Another mention to William Wright who continued his confidence with the bat, bowling well to take 2 wickets in his 4 overs.

Thank you to Wycliffe School for hosting at their brilliant facilities and to Cricket Wales East for competitive fixture, we wish them well for the season ahead.
