Bath CC vs Gloucestershire U18's (Friendly)

The commencement of the highly anticipated County Age Group season begun with two pre-season friendlies for our Gloucestershire U18’s squad 

At North Parade against a Bath CC side, we won the toss and elected to bat first. Ben French (Frocester CC) & Tommy Boorman (Dumbleton CC) safely negotiated Bath’s opening attack and made a conservative stand of 61.

Once French was dismissed for 23, Boorman increased his tempo and found his form whilst being ably assisted by wicket keeper George Driver-Dickerson (Frampton CC) who managed a swift 33. Boorman was eventually dismissed for a superb 92 after Gloucestershire reached the 200 mark and the lower order ensured we reached a par total of 231 in 50 overs.

In reply, Oliver Wood (Cirencester CC) & Hamdi Saleem (Downend CC) bowled with discipline and patience as a pair, both going at less than 4 an over. However, well crafted half centuries by our own GCCC pathway coach P Muchall (51) making an outing for his club and A Morrison (62*) saw Bath home to take the win by 3 wickets.

A special mention must go to Alex Oliver (Tewkesbury CC) & Charlie Brook (Cirencester CC) who both took 2 wickets a piece and tightened the reigns during the middle overs for Gloucestershire.

Thank you to Bath CC for hosting us, it was a great opporunity for our players to get some vital match practice for the busy season ahead.
