Higgins signed for Gloucestershire in October 2017.

Prior to his arrival at The Brightside Ground, Bristol, Higgins had been a regular for Middlesex in limited-overs cricket.

In the season before joining Gloucestershire, Higgins produced a man of the match performance for Middlesex at the Cheltenham Cricket Festival, hitting 68 off 28 balls in the T20 Blast, helping the away side secure a draw.

On signing for the club, Higgins said "I am keen to continue my development in the next few years with a special emphasis on my red-ball batting,"

Higgins got off to a great start for Gloucestershire with 6 wickets on his debut away at Kent in the Specsavers County Championship in April 2018.
