The 31-year-old right arm fast bowler has been signed for Gloucestershire’s 2018 Vitality Blast campaign after stellar seasons in his native Australia.
In 2016, Tye took 18 wickets in 14 T20 appearences for Gloucestershire.
A team mate of Gloucestershire’s Michael Klinger at Perth Scorchers, he was the breakthrough star of their victorious BBL 4 campaign.
A late developer, Tye didn’t make his First Class debut until the age of 26 but has gone on to excel in all three forms of the game for the Scorchers and Western Australia.
A specialist death bowler and clean-hitting lower order batsman, his domestic form has seen him secure an IPL contract for the Kings XI Punjab.
Despite hailing from Perth, Tye will be no stranger to English conditions, having played Second XI cricket for Somerset, Durham and Northants.
