Young Glos players enjoy day out at the cricket
20 August 2012
Young Gloucestershire players from across the County enjoyed a day in the sun courtesy of Gloucestershire Cricket at the CB40 match against Lancashire on Sunday.
Boys and girls who represent Gloucestershire Age Group Squads were invited to the match to celebrate a year of hard work. They had the chance to meet some of the Gloucestershire squad, enjoyed the free coaching and inflatables at the ground and participated in a lap of honour around the pitch at the interval. This was generously acknowleged by the crowd with very warm applause throughout.
Steve Silk, Gloucestershire Cricket Board Development Manager, said ‘It has been a challenging year for both the players and the parents due to the poor weather and a large number of cancelled matches; it was great to put this behind us and see a large number of smiling faces on the day.'
