We Will Give It Everything - Hamish

29 June 2012

Hamish Marshall insists his young Gloucestershire team should relish the challenge of taking on unbeaten Midlands/Wales/West Division leaders Somerset in tonight's Friends Life t20 game at Taunton.

The match is a sell-out and Hamish believes the atmosphere and quality of opposition will bring the best out of the underdogs.

He told this website: "It's a match we are all looking forward to. We know what a good side Somerset are, but we always relish taking on our local rivals.

"We will go there and give it everything. Anything can happen on the day in T20 cricket and if we can produce our best form we will have a chance.

"It's important we take the game to Somerset, rather than back off. You always get a good batting pitch at Taunton so it is somewhere I have always enjoyed visiting.

"Somerset know how to play on their pitches, but equally we know what we need to do on the night and will do our best to execute our own plans.

"Hopefully, there will be a few of our supporters in the big crowd or we could be on the receiving end of an earful. Somerset fans enjoy backing their team, but it will be great experience for our younger players and I'm sure they will rise to the occasion."
