Visitor information - Gloucestershire v Somerset Friday 23 August

We look forward to welcoming Members & Supporters of both Gloucestershire and Somerset to the Bristol County Ground on Friday 23rd August for the local derby in the Vitality Blast. This match is SOLD OUT!

Key Points:-

  • There is no car parking available at The Bristol County Ground
  • If you're travelling from Somerset to Bristol for the T20 match, make sure you've planned your journey. 
  • A park & ride shuttle service from Portway (BS11 9QE) has been arranged for this match with First Bus and the Bristol city council.
  • Nevil Road and Arthur Milton Street will be closed from 1.30pm to all motor-vehicles
  • We will be presenting Gloucestershire T20 captain Michael Klinger with the 'Spirit of Cricket Award' shortly after the toss

 

Gates open - 4:30pm

Match starts - 6:30pm

First Session 6.30pm - 7.45pm
Interval 7.45pm - 8.00pm
Second Session 8.00pm - 9.15pm

 

Please check your tickets before you arrive at the ground. 

The main entrance to the ground is the Ashley Down Road entrance, off College Road.  The postcode is BS7 9LU.

If you are collecting tickets, please arrive at the Ashley Down Road entrance (BS7 9LU) from 4.30pm.

Please note alcohol, metal cans or glass bottles may not be brought into the ground at any time.

Entry for Gloucestershire Members -

Members will need to show their membership card at the gates for entry. 

 

Parking –

There will be no parking within the Bristol County Ground. Nevil Road & Arthur Milton Street will be closed to traffic from 1.30pm.

Limited parking will be available for GCCC 2019 season parking pass and blue badge holders and Premier Club Members ONLY within the City of Bristol College car park at the Ashley Down Road end of the ground. Stewards will be directing and assisting on the day.

If using a satnav, you should use the postcode BS7 9LU.

 

Park & Ride -

A park and ride service will be in operation for this match from the Portway Park & Ride site (BS11 9QE).

Bus Service –

The Bristol County Ground, on Nevil Road, is easily accessible by bus: Services 17, 70/71, 72, 73, 75, 76, T2 all run within a five minute walk of the main entrance using stops on the nearby Gloucester Road (Services 71, 72, 73, 75, 76, T2), Muller Road (Service 17) and  Ashley Down Road (Service 70).  All buses operate at regular intervals, Service 75 and 76 run 24 hours a day.

Train Service –

The nearest train station to the Bristol County Ground is Montpelier, approximately 1 mile from the Club and close to other public transport.  The station has direct lines through to Bristol Temple Meads and a regular schedule to Bristol Parkway.

 

Cash –

We advise that supporters bring cash to the ground as there is only one cash-withdrawal machine available.

 

Food & Drink –

DRINK

We have SEVEN bars in total including a Pimms & Gin stall, there will be a variety of drink options on the day of the match.

FOOD

The Optimum Bar will be serving a selection of food and drink and can be found adjacent to the Bristol Pavilion. (The Optimum Sports Bar is the only bar in the ground that offers Gloucestershire Cricket Members' Discount)

The Stumps Café, which is located at the Ashley Down Road end of the ground (on the main concourse under the apartments) will be serving a range of hot and cold snacks, including pasties and sandwiches as well as hot and cold beverages, including beer, wine and cider.

There will be SEVEN food units in the ground which range from Fish & Chips, Greek, Noodle Bar and Hog Roast. 

If you have any dietary requirements, please ask the staff in all catering units, they will be able to assist with your queries.

All supporters are reminded that due to ECB Ground Regulations, NO ALCOHOL can be brought into the ground for this Vitality Blast Match.

Michael Klinger - 

This could well be the last home match for Michael Klinger, as a thank you, we will be presenting Maxy with the 'Spirit of Cricket award' shortly after the toss.

Freebies - 

When you arrive make sure you keep an eye out for the FREE goodies we have on offer such as 4 & 6 cards.  There’s also the chance to meet our Mascot, Alfred!

Activation Area - 

As this match is a sell out, we have ensured that there are plenty of toilets, bars and food outlets around the ground. As a result, there won't be an activation area in place in order to accomidate for these additional facilites.

Stewarding –

There will be a number of stewards located around the ground, they will be happy to help with any questions you may have.

Entry/Bag Searches –

Please be aware that bags may be searched on entry to the ground. Please arrive early to avoid any congestion.
