19 August 2019

Gloucestershire Cricket is delighted to announce that all-rounder Graeme van Buuren has signed a new 12-month contract which will keep him with the Club until the end of the 2020 season.

The South African joined Gloucestershire in April 2016 and has since been a regular in the first team along with becoming a fan favourite.

Graeme has played in all competitions for the Shire this season. In the Royal London One-Day Cup, van Buuren averaged 30 runs with the bat and took four wickets in the six matches he played.

Graeme is also averaging 30 runs in the County Championship. He had match best figures of 3/46 against Sussex at Arundel in June.

Graeme’s most memorable performance of the season arrived against local rivals Somerset at The Bristol County Ground in the Royal London One-Day Cup. His terrific man of the match knock of 61 which included six 4’s and one 6, helped Gloucestershire beat Somerset by four wickets.

Speaking on his contract extension, Graeme said: “I’m very excited to be with the lads for another year, I have loved it here since joining the Club in 2016.

My family and I have made lifelong friends and I can’t wait to keep that going. We are playing fantastic cricket at the moment, hopefully we can end the season with success."

Gloucestershire Head Coach Richard Dawson added: “It’s great that Graeme has extended his contract with the Club. He’s been an important member of the squad on and off the pitch for a number of years and we look forward to this continuing.”
