Day 1
Having been put into bat, Day 1 belonged to Gloucestershire in our Championship clash v Essex at Chelmsford with Dan Housego and Hamish Marshall both scoring centuries.
Teatime report - Day 2
Play resumed at 3.10 pm - following no play earlier in the day due to rain - with Gloucestershrie on 300-3. Teatime score was 378-5. Benny Howell on 16 no and Will Gidman yet to score. Great knock this afternoon from Dan Housego who was trapped lbw by Bopara on 150 and Hamish Marshall who was caught & bowled on 149.
End of Play Day 2 :
Gloucestershire declared on 409-5. By the close Essex had been reduced to 30-2 in reply, with James Fuller taking both of the wickets.
Prospects of Play Day 3:
Rain has delayed the scheduled start of 11.00
The umpires have inspected and play is now due to start at 2.50
