25 May 2023

Gloucestershire Cricket is delighted to announce Thatchers Cider will remain as the Club’s Official Cider and Activation Partner for the 2023 season.

The long-term agreement with Thatchers moves into an eleventh season and is a partnership that has become synonymous with both the West Country and Gloucestershire Cricket

Joe Kaniecki, Head of Partnerships at Gloucestershire Cricket, said: “To be associated with such a prestigious and locally based cider maker for such a long period of time is testament to the dedication and commitment the Thatchers team have shown in supporting us to create an incredible customer experience around the ground and on  matchdays.”

Not only is Thatchers our official cider partner, with their delicious ciders Gold, Haze, Cloudy Lemon and Blood Orange available throughout the Seat Unique Stadium, the popular cider makers also lend their name to the Thatchers Bar & Kitchen which is based at the venue and is open all year round to members of the public.

Thatchers Bar & Kitchen serves speciality coffee, breakfast rolls, lunch time paninis and jacket potatoes, and has become the perfect local hub to pause and relax at a unique sporting environment in the heart of Bristol.

In addition to the support around the ground, the giant Thatchers inflatable apples will make a welcome return for T20 fixtures this season! With the Big Apple Race set to take place during each interval, the entertaining spectacle is sure to add to the fun and friendly atmosphere that the Seat Unique Stadium has to offer.

Philip McTeer, Head of Marketing at Thatchers Cider, said: “We are absolutely delighted to support Gloucestershire Cricket again for another season of fun and exciting cricket. For us, the partnership is the perfect combination. Live professional cricket fused with Thatchers cider, in our opinion, it is the perfect way to enjoy the sport.”

Thatchers Cider is a family-run Somerset business at the foot of the Mendip Hills and has been making cider locally on Myrtle Farm since 1904. It has now grown to be one of the most popular cider makers in the country.

You can enjoy Thatchers cider at all of Glos Cricket’s home Vitality Blast matches in Bristol which start on Friday 26 May when Glamorgan make the short journey from Cardiff.
