Thatchers celebrates 10 years of partnership with Glos Cricket

1 June 2022

It’s Thatchers’ tenth season of partnership with Glos – they’re our official cider and T20 activation partner and we’re celebrating this great anniversary with the addition of their new Fusion Font in the Thatchers Bar! One tap, three drinks or a cocktail – the choice is all yours…

Our sponsors at Thatchers Cider are at the heart of so much of the fun that comes with the excitement of T20 cricket. New to the Thatchers Bar at the Seat Unique Stadium for this season is the Fusion Font, where you can choose from some of Thatchers newest cider flavours – Blood Orange, Cloudy Lemon or Dark Berry! Both Thatchers Gold and Thatchers Haze will also be available across the ground as usual.

It's not all about the drinks either, our newly refurbished Thatchers Café serves wonderful speciality coffees, savoury snacks such as paninis and bacon rolls, together with an array of gorgeous cakes. So whether a cup of tea or a cider floats your boat, you can relax outside our stunning new Thatchers Café and Bar whilst seeing some awesome games of T20 cricket.

Back in action this year are our giant Thatchers inflatable apples, ready for the Big Apple Race which takes place in between innings at every T20. It’s always a hilarious spectacle to look forward to.

The Golden Ticket has also returned, where you have the chance to win a case of Thatchers Gold cider at every Glos Cricket Vitality Blast home match. The best bit is, you don’t even need to enter – each match we’ll pick the lucky winner out of the crowd at random!

Not only that, Thatchers will be giving away 300 free pints to Gloucestershire Cricket Members during the T20 Vitality Blast match v Essex Eagles on Friday 3 June. 300 yellow chips will be handed out by our Cricketeers to over 18 members only, who will then be able to redeem the chip for a free pint of Blood Orange/Cloudy Lemon/Dark Berry cider at the Thatchers Café, next to the Bristol Pavilion.

Philip McTeer, Head of Marketing at Thatchers Cider, said: “It's great to have the T20 season back in Bristol – it’s such an exciting sporting occasion, and what better way to enjoy than with a glass of cider in hand.”

There are still five T20s taking place in Bristol this summer, so there’s still time to get in on the action and buy your tickets now! Children’s tickets start at just £7 with adults at £27 for Gloucestershire’s T20 home matches; click here to buy.

Thatchers Cider, a family-run Somerset business at the foot of the Mendip Hills, has been making cider locally on Myrtle Farm since 1904. It has now grown to be one of the most popular cider makers in the country.

Joe Kaniecki, Head of Partnerships at Gloucestershire Cricket, added: “To be in our tenth year of partnership with Thatchers Cider is simply fantastic. Together we’ve transformed our bars and cafes into local establishments that are an absolute pleasure to relax in.

“The T20 season is in full swing and it’s fantastic to see so many people enjoying the cricket with one of Thatchers signature drinks.”
