St Austell hands out 300 free pints of Korev to Glos supporters

23 May 2022

Glos supporters were treated to 300 free pints last Thursday to mark the first day of the County Championship match with local rivals Somerset. St Austell Brewery, a proud sponsor of Gloucestershire Cricket for nine years, showcased its flagship lager brand, korev, by giving out free pints to lucky fans at the Seat Unique Stadium.

Vouchers for 300 free pints were handed out at the St Austell Brewery Stand and plenty of Korev was enjoyed by Glos and Somerset supporters alike at our new Legend’s Bar. Importantly, St Austell Brewery colleagues got the chance to catch up with those sampling korev and have a good chat about all things cricket while enjoying the perfect accompanying refreshments!

For those who haven’t had the chance to try korev yet, it’s a distinctive pale lager brewed in the Helles style. Platinum gold in colour, with a delicate touch of honey on the nose, Korev has a fresh, crisp taste that makes it an ideal companion for long sunny days spent watching cricket. Korev unveiled a vibrant rebrand inspired by its Cornish roots last year.

korev is available at all home Glos matches as well in major supermarkets and online here.

Matt Heal, Brand Manager at St Austell Brewery, said: “We are delighted to support Gloucestershire Cricket and what better way to celebrate the success of our long-standing partnership than with the St Austell Brewery Stand, where we were able to get korev lager into the hands of cricket fans across the South West. The day itself was a fantastic experience and we were thrilled to be a part of the first County Championship match between two great local rivals.”

Will Brown, Chief Executive at Gloucestershire County Cricket Club, said: “It was wonderful to welcome St Austell Brewery to the ground today; their stand was a real point of interest. We’re always keen for all our partners to engage with our supporters whilst enjoying a day’s cricket. It’s important to the Club too that we help promote local products from the South West, in terms of both supporting the local economy and reducing our carbon footprint by using local suppliers.”

St Austell, owner of Bath Ales, partners the Club with Gem amber ale as shirt sponsor and via our newest premium seating area, the Korev Roof Terrace. With some of the best views in the house and its own dedicated bar, the Korev Roof Terrace has become much sought after for hospitality packages. All Glos supporters are welcome to enjoy the area during times where it’s not booked for hospitality.
