Second XI match update

At the close of play on day one of the Second XI Championship match at Bristol, Gloucestershire 343-0 against Surrey. Benny Howell is 207 not out, and Jon Batty is 113 not out.

This is the highest partnership for any wicket for Gloucestershire in the Second XI Championship.  The previous record was 315 for the second wicket partnership between Dominic Hewson and Rob Cunliffe in 1998.

On Monday the Gloucestershire 2nd XI also played Surrey 2nd XI in the Second XI Trophy 40 over game. Scores were Surrey 210 – 6, Gloucestershire 168 all out, with Surrey winning by 42 runs.
