One Day Cup Preview | Gloucestershire v Warwickshire
3 August 2024
After two wins from two on the road, Gloucestershire return to the Seat Unique Stadium to face arguably their toughest test of the Metro Bank One Day Cup so far.
Warwickshire are the opposition, with Sunday’s 50-over clash a dress rehearsal for the Vitality Blast quarter-final booked in between the sides next month.
After beating Surrey at The Oval on Tuesday, Gloucestershire continued building momentum in victory against Yorkshire on Friday. Ollie Price anchored the first innings with 98 from 118 deliveries as Shire set the home side 252 to win.
Seamers Matt Taylor (3), Ajeet Singh Dale (2) and Dom Goodman (2) then continued their good form in the competition with regular wickets to restrict Yorkshire to 215 all out.
Unbeaten in four Group B matches, Warwickshire will put one foot in the knockout phase with a win. At the same time, Gloucestershire must continue stringing wins together if they are to keep qualification a possibility.

OUR OPPONENTS
Table-toppers Warwickshire visit Bristol looking for a fifth consecutive win in the competition.
Skipper Ed Barnard is in fine form with bat and ball, taking ten wickets so far in a competition he threw down the gauntlet in against Essex in the opening round of fixtures. His masterful 173* in that match laid the foundation for a historic chase of 325 to win – the highest chase of this year’s tournament.
When the sides met in the Metro Bank One Day Cup last season, it was Warwickshire who ran out victorious, catching Gloucestershire off guard in the opening group fixture, winning by eight wickets.
