New Year's Honours recognition for Chris Coley
31 December 2024
Gloucestershire County Cricket Club is delighted to report that former employee and long-standing supporter, Chris Coley, has today been recognised as part of the New Year’s Honours List.
Coley, who was the Club Marketing Manager between 1979-1981, will receive a Medal of the Order of the British Empire (BEM) for services to Sports Administration and to the Community in Gloucestershire.
Peter Matthews, Gloucestershire County Cricket Club Chair, said of Chris’s achievement:
“I am absolutely delighted that Chris has been recognised for all his work in sport and for the community.
“For many years he was the driving force behind the Cheltenham Cricket Festival and he has been a great supporter of the County for many years.
“At a personal level he has been extremely helpful to me since becoming Chair and I am proud to consider him a friend.”
Coley, a current Member of Gloucestershire County Cricket Club, continues to support the Club off the field with his experience and knowledge, a passion which will see him assisting the Club once again ahead of the 2025 iteration of the Cheltenham Cricket Festival.
Gloucestershire County Cricket Club would like to place on record our congratulations to Chris on his deserved recognition.
