Lord Vestey RIP
4 February 2021
The Club is sad to hear today of the death of former Gloucestershire Cricket patron Lord Vestey.
Lord Vestey was Patron of the Club from 1997 to 2014 during which time he was an integral and much loved part of the Gloucestershire Cricket family.
He was a regular at both the Bristol County Ground and the Cheltenham Cricket Festival where he would often be entertaining friends, chatting with members or simply walking the ground, often with ice cream in hand and dog in tow. His kind, friendly, generous and approachable nature made him hugely popular with all at the Club and his presence at so many of the Club’s Lord’s finals was appreciated by everyone.
Even after he stood down from his role as Patron Lord Vestey remained a regular at the Club and at Club events and we know he will be missed by all at Gloucestershire. The Club’s flag will be flown at half-mast in his memory.
Our thoughts are with Lord Vestey’s family and friends at this time.
