Local School children get special visit from ex England captain
15 May 2017
Former England Women’s Cricket Captain, Charlotte Edwards CBE, recently paid a visit to St Werburgh’s Primary school in Bristol as part of the ICC Nissan Trophy Tour.
The ICC Women’s World Cup Trophy and Men’s Champions Trophy were both on show at the school, where Charlotte delivered a coaching session to the pupils alongside the Gloucestershire Cricket Community Board.
It was a chance for the pupils to have their photo taken with both trophies and to question the ex-England captain who retired from International cricket last year, but still plays domestically.
Charlotte is an ambassador for the trophy tour and is backing England to be victorious this summer when the ICC Women’s World Cup begins in June.
Gloucestershire Cricket will host eight world cup matches, including the clash of the group stages, England v Australia on Sunday 9 July.
