James Excited By Lord's Debut
15 August 2013
James Fuller is looking forward to helping Gloucestershire take a major step towards the Yorkshire Bank 40 semi-finals on his first ever appearance at Lord’s today.
The team go into the match against Middlesex (3.40pm start) knowing that victories in their last three Group C games will guarantee a place in the last four.
Fuller is excited by that prospect and also about playing at the home of cricket for the first time in a game of such importance.
He said: “I went on a ground tour of Lord’s once, but I have never even watched a game there, apart from on television.
“My family will be there and I am so looking forward to running in and bowling at such a famous venue.
“While we know three wins will put us in the semi-finals, it’s important that we break them down and concentrate on one at a time.”
Gloucestershire go into the game in confident mood after an emphatic victory over Leicestershire at Bristol and boasting the competition’s in-form batsman in skipper Michael Klinger.
Middlesex saw their hopes of reaching the semi-finals suffer a major blow with defeat by Glamorgan yesterday and are two points behind Gloucestershire having played one more game.
Somerset, who lead the group on run rate, have the same number of points as Glamorgan and Gloucestershire, but have also played one more match. They entertain Yorkshire at Taunton this afternoon (1.45pm start).
