7 May 2025
Gloucestershire Cricket is proud to announce that vice-captain James Bracey has been voted by supporters as the Watches of Bath Player of the Month for April, after a superb run of form at the start of the 2025 County Championship campaign.
The 27-year-old wicketkeeper-batter has been in outstanding touch, scoring 404 runs in five matches at an impressive average of 80.80.
His standout innings came against Kent, where he struck a commanding 151 not out at Canterbury - his highest score of the season so far - followed by a composed 93 not out against Leicestershire at Bristol.
Bracey has been dismissed only five times across the month’s matches and recorded three not out innings.
Most impressively, he faced 447 consecutive deliveries without being dismissed, a run that spanned from his first-innings dismissal against Glamorgan on 11 April to his second-innings dismissal against Leicestershire on 27 April, a testament to his concentration and technique.
With the gloves, Bracey has also been a steady presence, taking 18 catches and making 3 stumpings, contributing to Gloucestershire’s positive early season performances in all departments.
