1 March 2022
Head Coach Dale Benkenstein has said "I really do think we can win" the County Championship in his first interview at Gloucestershire.
The 47-year-old South African, who started at Glos in mid-February, believes his side have got what it takes to be genuine title contenders over the next three years under his leadership. Speaking publicly about his ambitions at The Shire for the first time, Benkenstein also said he's hoping to appoint a new Club Captain ahead of the squad's trip to Dubai on Saturday, 5 March.
In an extended interview with Gloucestershire's Communications Officer, Jack Longstaff, Benkenstein said: "I hope that with my experience, joined up with the rest of the coaching group, we can see the improvement from last year and with that we will be challenging for the Championship and I really do think we can win it."
