Hamish Eager For First T20 Win

15 June 2012

Hamish Marshall leads Gloucestershire for the first time as Twenty20 captain in tomorrow’s Friends Life Midlands/Wales/West Division game with Worcestershire at New Road.

The new skipper is eager to kick-start the group campaign after the frustration of having Thursday night’s opening fixture against Somerset washed out.

Gloucestershire go into the game in confident mood, having won a pre-season one-day game at the same venue in convincing style and beaten Worcestershire by 109 runs in the CB40 last Sunday.

Will Gidman is rested after a busy start to the season with bat and ball so the main seam bowling options options will be David Payne, Ian Saxelby and James Fuller.

Worcestershire’s T20 campaign began with a match against Warwickshire at Edgbaston last night, which was abandoned without a ball bowled.

Gloucestershire (from) H.Marshall (capt), B.Howell, K.Williamson, I.Cockbain, A Gidman, J.Taylor, D.Housego, E.Young, J.Fuller, J.Batty (wkt), D.Payne, I.Saxelby, M.Muralitharan.
