Gloucestershire extend partnership with Thatchers Cider

10 July 2018

We are delighted to announce that we have extended our partnership with the ever popular Thatchers Cider. Gloucestershire Cricket supporters will be able to continue enjoying popular ciders such as Thatchers Gold and Thatchers Haze at The Brightside Ground.

New for 2018, Thatchers becomes our T20 activation partner, so look out for their amazing Vat 12 sampling truck at matches, as well as chances to win prizes online and during Vitality Blast matches this year.

As part of our partnership with Thatchers, the cidermaker invited Gloucestershire’s players to swap their tracksuits for overalls on a visit to its Cider Mill and orchards at Myrtle Farm in Somerset.

Seven of the squad took part in a tour and tasting at the home of Gloucestershire Cricket’s official cider. During their trip they were given a look behind the scenes at every aspect of the production process from harvesting the apples to bottling, they also enjoyed a cider tasting session.

Speaking on the extended partnership with Gloucestershire Cricket, Head of Marketing at Thatchers Cider Philip McTeer said: “We are devoted to our local heartland here in the West Country and we are delighted to be working closely with Gloucestershire once again. We’re really excited to be partnering with the club on the T20 matches for the first time, which gives us a great opportunity to add to the Thatchers experience for fans.”

Head of Commercial at Gloucestershire Cricket, Emily Salvidge added: “We are excited to be working with Thatchers again this year and we know their cider is popular with our customers so it’s great that we have extended our partnership with them.”
