Gloucestershire’s Club President David ‘Syd’ Lawrence will take part in a sponsored sleepout later this month to raise money for a Bristol Homeless charity.
Former Glos player, Syd, has signed up to the CEO Sleepout on Monday 28 November at Clifton Rugby Club. The mass sleepout will see business leaders and leading public figures from within Bristol, come together to raise money towards the fight against homelessness in the city.
The event will see Syd, along with many others, sleep under the stars at Clifton Rugby Club to raise awareness and vital funds for homelessness. According to the organisers, over 260,000 people in England are homeless and in temporary accommodation and events like this are crucial fundraisers for support services for homeless individuals.
Syd will be raising money for local charity ‘Help Bristol’s Homeless’, and will take to sleeping outdoors in the elements in his quest to raise money for the charity.
The event aims to raise thousands of pounds for homeless charities and is one of five other events that are taking place in other cities around the country.
