George Drissell released by Gloucestershire
25 September 2020
21-year-old spinner George Drissell will not be offered a new contract at Gloucestershire Cricket and will be released at the end of the current season.
Drissell departs after making seven first-class and one List-A appearance for the Club. The Bristol born player came through the Academy Programme at Gloucestershire Cricket and made his debut in 2017.
George’s first wicket came at Cheltenham in 2018 when he dismissed Sussex captain Ben Brown before taking the wicket of Chris Jordan later in the innings. He has taken eight wickets during his time at The Shire with 4/83 against Glamorgan in 2019 his best return in an innings.
Gloucestershire Head Coach Richard Dawson said:
“George has been a popular member of our changing room since he became a part of the squad and it’s a shame to see him go.
“We thank George for all his contributions and commitment to the Club and we wish him our best for the future.”
