An injury to Gareth Roderick marred the second and final day of the friendly match against Somerset at the County Ground.
The wicketkeeper fractured a finger during the warm-up and now looks set to miss the start of the season.
Cameron Herring deputised behind the stumps as Somerset ran up 361 all out in reply to Gloucestershire’s 153 for eight declared before the game drew to a close.
Gareth’s injury will be assessed further over the next few days, with Cameron in line to keep the gloves for the opening LV=County Championship fixture against Hampshire at Bristol, starting on Sunday April 13th.
James Hildreth top-scored with 110 for Somerset, facing 108 balls and hitting 19 fours and a six. He shared a third-wicket stand of 173 with Nick Compton, who hit 86 off 111 deliveries, with 10 fours and 2 sixes.
