EXILES DAY AT THE BREWIN DOLPHIN CHELTENHAM CRICKET FESTIVAL
19 July 2016
Mike Procter, one of Gloucestershire's all-time great players, will be the special guest at the Gloucestershire Exiles’ Day at the Brewin Dolphin Cheltenham Cricket Festival this Wednesday (20 July).
During the lunch interval - on the first day of the Championship match against Leicestershire - Mike will be giving a talk to the Exiles and their guests about his Cricket Foundation in South Africa. The Foundation uses cricket to help improve the lives of hundreds of children from deprived backgrounds.
Sarah Blowen, the Exiles Chair, will also present a cheque for £5,000 to County Club Chairman, Roger Cooke, from the group's fund raising over the past year. To complete a busy day, Gloucestershire's Michael Klinger will be presented with his award as the Exiles ‘Player of the Year’ for 2015.
Gloucestershire Exiles is now over 40 years old and has around 240 members. Anyone interested in joining should e-mail Nigel Dean, the secretary, on nigeldean@sky.com or call him on 07808 901248.
