Dent On Form Again At Cheltenham
18 July 2013
Chris Dent top scored with 79 as Gloucestershire earned a first innings lead of 144 over Worcestershire on the second day of the LV=County Championship match at Cheltenham.
There were also useful contributions from Gareth Roderick (71) and Alex Gidman (62) before the hosts were bowled out for 326, having begun the day on 83 without loss.
By the close Worcestershire had made 31 without loss in their second innings and still trailed by 113.
Gloucestershire’s first innings advantage would have been greater, but for a collapse that saw them lose their last five wickets for 25 runs, Gareth Andrew taking three of them.
But it was still a more than handy lead on a pitch, which is starting to turn and on which batting has never looked particularly easy.
