County Championship Preview | Gloucestershire v Kent
15 May 2025
Gloucestershire return to action at the Seat Unique Stadium to host Kent following a bye week. They come into the fixture on the back of a strong showing in Manchester against Lancashire, where the hosts were forced to bat out the final day to secure a draw.
Ollie Price made headlines with a superb career-best 253 not out, ably supported by Miles Hammond, who fell just three runs short of a century. Captain Cam Bancroft declared overnight, leaving Gloucestershire needing ten Lancashire wickets on the final day to secure victory. Despite a strong team bowling performance, the hosts held on with just two wickets remaining, and Gloucestershire returned home with 13 points.

LAST MEETING
In their most recent County Championship Division Two encounter at Canterbury last month, the two sides played out an entertaining draw. Gloucestershire posted 472 in the first innings, highlighted by Australian all-rounder Cameron Green’s century on debut. Kent responded with 393, thanks to Ben Compton’s resilient unbeaten 144.
Gloucestershire declared their second innings at 333/5, setting Kent a daunting target of 413. Under pressure, Kent slumped to 116/6, but Zak Crawley’s unbeaten 54 helped them hold on for a draw. Rain interruptions and the loss of 36 overs also contributed to the stalemate.
