County Cap Is An Honour Says Skipper
24 April 2013
Michael Klinger has described being capped by Gloucestershire as “a great honour”.
The new skipper is pictured being presented with his cap by club chairman Rex Body before the start of play in the opening LV=County Championship home game against Northants at Bristol.
It was the second time Michael had received the award in county cricket. He was capped by Worcestershire last summer.
He told this website: “I feel honoured in both cases. I really enjoyed my time at Worcestershire, brief as it was.
“The difference with Gloucestershire is that I have been made captain and will be here for an entire season.
“I have played with a lot of Australians who have received county caps and I know they all consider it a big thing in their careers.
“It was great to receive my cap at the same time as such a promising young player as Cameron Herring, who I am sure is going to be a big asset to the club.”
