Alex Leads Gloucestershire At Chelmsford
28 June 2014
Alex Gidman continues as Gloucestershire skipper for the LV=County Championship match with Essex at Chelmsford, starting tomorrow.
The former club captain has taken over the reins again in the absence of Michael Klinger and led the team to a thrilling NatWest T20 Blast win over Kent at the Bristol County Ground last night.
Now Alex is hoping to inspire a return to winning ways in the four-day format. Gloucestershire go into the game sixth in the Championship Second Division, one place and two points above Essex.
Adam Rouse keeps his place behind the stumps following his match-winning innings against Kent.
He replaces Patrick Grieshaber in the four-day side. Jack Taylor and David Payne are added to the eleven who faced Glamorgan in the last Championship fixture to make a 13-man squad.
