Academy graduate Joe Phillips has signed a short-term deal with Gloucestershire Cricket.
The 19-year-old comes on board as batting cover for the initial stages of the Vitality Blast. The exciting top-order batter has been part of the Gloucestershire Academy for three years and has put in a number of impressive performances for the Second XI.
Born in Truro, Phillips honed his skills as a youngster within Cornwall’s Emerging Players Programme (EPP) before coming onboard at Glos as a 15-year-old.
Steve Snell, Performance Director at Gloucestershire, said: “Joe has shown a huge amount of promise in red and white ball cricket over the last couple of years. We’re very pleased to be able to offer this opportunity to Joe; it’s always exciting when a player begins to transition from the pathway to the first-team.
“I’m looking forward to seeing what Joe can do as he continues with his development in the coming weeks and months.”
