2nd XI face Sussex today
14 August 2014
Gloucestershire’s 2nd XI Championship match with Sussex at Hove finished in a draw yesterday, as heavy rain during the evening session ensured there was no chance of an end result.
After Gloucestershire resumed 12 runs ahead on the final day yesterday morning, we reached 335 for 9 declared. Fynn Hudson-Prentice was the pick of the bowlers for Sussex, taking 4 for 34, whilst Mark Craig, who has played three Test Matches for New Zealand, made a century for Gloucestershire.
Sussex had a target of 248 to win the match but at 99 for 3 the heavens opened and no further play was possible.
The Second Eleven are back in action today taking on Sussex again, at Hove, in the 50-over Trophy competition
