Worcestershire win by 10 wickets
Venue: New Road
Gloucestershire went down to a 10-wicket defeat against Worcestershire at New Road, despite some tremendous tail-end batting from Gareth Roderick, James Fuller and Craig Miles.
Gloucestershire began the day on 87-5 and a pre-lunch finish looked likely when Benny Howell and Jack Taylor departed cheaply to make it 107-7.
But Roderick and Fuller put on 99 for the eighth wicket before Fuller was dismissed for 42. Then Roderick and Craig Miles ensured Worcestershire would have to bat again with a ninth-wicket stand of 48.
Chris Russell finally accounted for Miles (20) and Liam Norwell in the space of three balls to wrap up the Gloucestershire innings for 254, with Championship debutant Roderick unbeaten on 79.
Worcestershire openers Daryl Mitchell and Matt Pardoe knocked off the 33 runs required for victory in fewer than five overs.
Gloucestershire are back in action tomorrow with a Yorkshire Bank 40 game against the Unicorns at Bristol (1.45pm). Michael Klinger’s side will be looking to complete a double over the Unicorns, who they defeated by nine wickets at Wormsley earlier this month.
Worcestershire won the toss and elected to bowl.
