Taylor's Battling Innings In Vain
04/08/2012 23:53:28
Jack Taylor's fighting innings of 63 wasn't enough to save Gloucestershire from a 26-run defeat by Glamorgan on the final day of the LV=County Championship match with Glamorgan at St Helen's.
The visitors were set 248 to win in a minimum of 81 overs and looked favourites when Taylor, who hit his maiden first class half-century, and Ian Cockbain (55) frustrated Glamorgan with a seventh-wicket stand.
But veteran spinner Robert Croft then turned the game with a spell of four wickets in the space of 23 balls as an absorbing day's cricket ended with the hosts triumphant.
Glamorgan took 20 points and Gloucestershire three. For more details click on Cricket and then Match reports.
Gloucestershire are back in Championship action on Monday when Hampshire are the visitors to the County Ground, Bristol.
