Persons wishing to become members must complete an application form accompanied by payment of the joining fee. Subsequent monthly membership fees are payable in advance by Standing Order or Direct Debit, payments will be debited on or just after the 1st of each month. If a membership is cancelled, the joining fee will be payable again on renewal of membership. If a member does not attend the centre having purchased a membership, they will not be entitled to a refund of membership fees. The Club may from time to time increase the Club fee and tariff due to the increase in the cost of overheads or other costs to the Club. We will give you at least 30 days written notice of any fee and/ or tariff increase. You may end this contract at any time before the increase comes into effect by giving us 14 days notice in writing. Members will only be permitted to use the facility provided your membership is current and fully paid up. Members are classed as adults from the age of 16, or 18 if they are in full time education (proof of full time education will be required for reduced membership). Members will abide by the Rules and Regulation in the Gloucestershire County Cricket Club handbook for all Cricket related Membership.
2. Membership Cards
Each member will be issued a membership card, which will remain the property of Gloucestershire County Cricket Club Ltd and on termination of membership will be returned to the Club. Members will present the card to staff on request when using the facility. Any loss of membership cards must be reported to the Club immediately. There is an administration charge of £5 per replacement card.
3. Use of Equipment
In the absence of any negligence or breach of any other legal duty by the Club, the use by the member of any of the Club’s equipment, or facilities is entirely at the member’s own risk. Regular induction classes explaining the safe and proper use of the equipment shall be available to members on joining the Club. The induction fee is included in the joining fees. Induction classes explaining the safe and proper use of each item of equipment must be attended by members intending to use such equipment. The attendance of these classes is the responsibility of the member. The member acknowledges that they must not use any equipment unless they are satisfied that they are competent to do safely and properly. The member must use the equipment and facility safely and properly, and take care to safeguard their own health and safety and that of other members. The Club will not be responsible for any loss or injury to the member to the extent that it is caused by their own unsafe or improper use of the equipment or the facility. The member acknowledges that they will be responsible for any harm or injury that they cause to another member or to the Club to the extent that it is caused through their own unsafe or improper use of the equipment or the facilities. The management reserve the right to suspend membership at any time if a member does not adhere to safe and proper use of the Club’s equipment as instructed by the staff.
4. Valuables and Liability
In the absence of any negligence or breach of any other legal duty, the Club shall not be responsible for or liable to the member for any loss or damage to a member’s possessions within the facility.
5. Upgrade / Downgrade of Membership Type.
If a member wishes to upgrade or downgrade their membership type, the Club requires 14 days notice in writing.
6. Bookings
Members are advised to book at reception to guarantee their place for a Tennis or Squash court session. Reception is open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. Alternatively the booking forms will be displayed of any evening in the facility on the notice board. At peak times 5.30pm to 9.15 p.m. only one session may be booked at a time. Court sessions and times start and end in accordance with the Clock in the main corridor of the facility. Members are only permitted to book the Squash and Tennis courts and should not book a court for guest only matches. Members should avoid side by side or concurrent double session bookings during peak periods to all other members the opportunity to book courts at popular times. Cancellation of courts should be made a early as possible and deletion of your name from the forms so that others can book can be done over the telephone by calling 0117 910 8000. Any Squash or Tennis member may use the court if they are empty or if a booking has not been claimed after 15 minutes. Members should, however, relinquish the court on time if the following session is booked even if unexpired time remains on the lights.
7. Guests
Guests may only be admitted in to the facility to play squash and tennis with a member. The member must book the court in advance and state that a Guest will be accompanying the member. A Guest will not be allowed to use the gym facility or the sauna. The member must sign the guest in and they must adhere to the Club’s terms and conditions. Failure to comply with this may result in the revoking of membership.
8. General
The Club may from time to time change or add to these terms and conditions for security, legal or regulatory reasons. We will give you at least 30 days written notice of any changes or additions. You may end this contract at any time before they come into effect by giving us 14 days notice in writing.
9. Termination of Membership
The Club requires at least 14 days notice in writing should the member wish not to renew their monthly membership to enable us to update our systems. In such circumstances it is the member’s responsibility to cancel their Standing order or Direct Debit with their bank.
10. Opening Hours
The facility is open Monday to Friday 7.30am to 10.00 pm and Weekends 9.00am to 9.00pm. The facility will be closed each Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day. Gloucestershire County Cricket Club reserves the right to close the facility on other days during the year, notice of the closing dates will be displayed in the facility in advance.
11. Rule infringements
It is the responsibility of the Supervisory Staff and Instructors on Club premises to ensure the Club Rules, Bye Laws and Guidelines are observed by Members and Guests. In the event of there being a minor infringement of a rule, the transgressor will be advised to comply with the rule or Bye Laws. If there is a serious or persistent infringement the Member and or Guest may be advised to leave and their members revoked.
