Bristol Region

These are exciting times for Gloucestershire County Cricket Club, particularly in Bristol, with the development of the County Ground.

The Bristol Region are busy organising a number of fundraising activities, which we believe will be hugely enjoyable. We are combining old favourites with some brand new events.

What events do we have?

Other events held throughout the year include the Sportsman’s lunch in November, a wine tasting evening in December and Christmas Tree sales.

Throughout the year there is a chance to get the club and win some cash prizes with the Triple Chance Draws. As its name suggests this is a prize draw three times a year. For full details contact Patrick Power on r.power@blueyonder.co.uk

Annual General Meeting

The Bristol Region Committee AGM was held on 1st December 2011. The Chairman reported on the year’s events thanking the Office Staff and Ground Staff for their support and help especially with the highly successful fireworks night. He noted the cooperation of other regions and our helping them. The monies raised by the Regions was the difference between profit and loss for the Club as a whole.

The Treasurer said we had raised nearly £20,000 in profit and had passed £19,675 to the Club for the year ending September 30th. The Fireworks raised the bulk of this but all the other events helped to swell the income for the year and the treasurer thanked those who had contributed with an especial mention of our hard working Chairman.

The following Officers were elected for 2012:
Chairman: D.McLauchlan
Vice-Chairman: R.Williams
Treasurer: R.Babington
Secretary: K.Crabtree
Other Committee Members: R.Body, J.Gilliard, J.Higson, D.Oates, R.Smith, A.Williams.

How can I get involved?

At most one day games, Bristol region volunteers will be around the ground selling ground raffle tickets for the Club Benefit year. So feel free to stop and ask them about the region and how to get involved.

The committee has a tremendous enthusiasm for raising funds to support the club and have great fun at the same time. If you are interested in helping whether in a formal or informal basis please contact David McLauchlan on 07969 294736
