Are you interested in following Gloucestershire cricket? Would you enjoy the opportunity to meet the players? Would you enjoy attending social events with other followers of the County? Would you like to receive two copies a year of a top quality magazine dedicated solely to Gloucestershire cricket? Well you have come to the right place, and it does not matter where you live – you still qualify.
The Gloucestershire Exiles is a part-social, part fundraising organisation which is now over thirty years old and boasts a membership of several hundred from around the country, even from around the world. Originally conceived to bring together supporters from outside the county, the membership now includes many who live in Gloucestershire who wish to enjoy the benefits offered by the Exiles.
So what do we do? Each year we aim to hold at least two functions. The Annual Lunch takes place at Cheltenham on a Saturday during the festival and is attended by over 100 members and their guests. Members of the County committee are present and depending on the match circumstances we are joined by some of the players, too. In addition we also hold a Meet the Players evening, usually at Lord’s, where Exiles have the chance to mix and mingle with the squad one evening at the end of play. Both events are very different but very relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable and the dates for next year’s functions will be published in January once the 2010 fixtures are confirmed. The major social event in 2010 will be a dinner which we will hold in the Committee Dining Room at Lord’s. It will be the third time that the Exiles has held such an event and it promises to be a memorable evening, starting with a tour of the pavilion and also including a a leading figure from the world of cricket. Keep an eye on this site for details.

Most important of all is our magazine, Outside-edge, which is published twice a year and keeps you in touch with the latest Club developments. It includes articles submitted by our members but also features contributions from County players and other cricket lovers. If you would like to receive a complimentary copy let us know and we will forward one to you free of charge.
The very best news is that the annual membership subscription which gives you access to all this costs just £10 – and we offer concessions. If you are interested in joining the Gloucestershire Exiles, and we hope you are, please contact our Membership Secretary, Simon Franklin, at Flat 6, Four Square Court, 405 Nelson Road, Hounslow, Middlesex TW3 3UN or our Secretary, Mark Brunt, who is at: mbrunt@petrochemcarless.com
We look forward to hearing from you soon
