Richard Dawson

Role: Spin Bowling Coach
Richard was appointed the club’s Spin Bowling Coach in November 2010 and has since retired from a highly successful playing career that brought international honours.
The former Yorkshire and England player made his debut for Gloucestershire in the Championship match against Glamorgan in August 2008 and signed a contract shortly afterwards. He quickly staked his claim for a place in the first XI by making an important contribution to the Gladiators' win over Middlesex Crusaders in the NatWest Pro40.
Initially when appointed coach, Richard remained available for the team as a player. But he now concentrates all his efforts on coaching and in 2011 he was appointed Spin Bowling Coach with the England Development Programme.
